From Beginner to Trail Running Enthusiast

Hello and welcome to this running adventure with me!


My running journey began around 15 years ago when I decided to take up running as a way to stay fit and shed the post baby weight. Starting small with short distances, I gradually built up my stamina and confidence, eventually participating in my first 10k race and heralding my quest for participation bling!


However, it was during the lockdown period that I truly immersed myself in running - daily exercise anyone? It was a great way to stay active and maintain my mental well-being after another thankless day of home schooling. It also gave me the confidence to complete my first full marathon, a significant milestone in my running journey. Since then and despite the return to the normal demands of working life I've continued to run and set myself new challenges to keep it fresh.


As a busy mum of two, I know how difficult it can be to keep motivated and find the time to get out there and keep running. So I truly hope my blog gives you some encouragement and helpful advice to lace those trainers up and get out there in the great outdoors for a run.


Similarly, I hope you'll serve as my motivation and encouragement as you join me on my journey to run (with quite a lot of walking) the South-West Coast path (in stages, because I'm not mad) as well as see what other running challenges I can set myself!
